Introduction of candidates for the IAGA Division VI committee
Division VI Committee (DC) members coordinate the activities of IAGA Division VI and are expected to take an active leadership role. Members elected to represent a geographical region are expected to provide effective liaison between the Committee and the electromagnetic induction community in that region. DC members are expected to play an effective role in the work of the DC, e.g. by serving as members of EMIW Programme Committees, or by convening and chairing Division sessions at IUGG and IAGA Assemblies.
Forteen of these members provide a regional geographic representation of the DC (plus 2 optional members-at-large and additional appointed non-voting observers). The current structure of the committee can be found here.
Nominations for the DC members are made by the DC and the whole Division. The nomination for candidates must be accompanied by a brief biography of the candidate. Approximately two weeks in advance of the Business Meeting, the Division will be advised electronically of the full list of candidates (as nominated by both the DC and Division members), their brief biographies, and the nominator/seconder.
The biographies of candidates which have been put forward can be found in the members section of the IAGA Division VI.
